Current Impacts on Benefit Programs
SNAP (Food Assistance)
- What’s Happening? Because of the shutdown, the state will not be able to send out SNAP payments for the month of November.
- What Should I Do? The SNAP money you received in October will need to last through November. You are also responsible of completing any renewals or changes during this time, even if you're not getting payments.
- Work Requirement: The new work rules starting on November 1, 2025, are still in effect.
- Your Current Balance: If you still have money on your EBT card, you can use it as you normally would.

What’s Happening? The program opening has been delayed until December, but it has not been canceled.

What should I do? If you need immediate heating assistance, many utility providers offer payment plans or their own assistance programs. Reach out to your provider directly for options available to you.
