Marriage Counseling

Information on marriage counseling from the Erie County Bar Association. Couples experiencing marital difficulties often consider marriage counseling to help restore and repair the relationship. If a divorce has been filed, either party may request, through the courts, that the both parties attend up to three one-hour marriage counseling sessions before the divorce is granted. The judge then has discretion to determine if marriage counseling must be completed as a condition of the divorce.(06/2023)
