Services provided
The Butler County Law Library is housed in the historic Courthouse. Patrons must enter through the Government Center Building located at 124 W. Diamond Street.

The Butler County Law Library is designed to assist the Court, Butler County Bar Association attorneys and County employees in obtaining access to legal information. Local attorneys may borrow books for a two-week period. The public may use the facilities; however, they may not borrow materials. Public access to the electronic information through Westlaw is also available. A photocopier is available for the public use in the Library.

The Law Librarian is permitted to assist the public in locating materials in performing their own legal research. However, under Pennsylvania law, the Law Librarian IS NOT permitted to interpret the law or give legal advice on how to proceed in a Court of Law.

The Law Librarian does not have a supply of printed forms. However, the Library does have electronic resources that may be consulted for language and format in drafting your legal documents.
